July 2004 Jim Trolinger Awarded AMT Medal Jim Trolinger was recently awarded the Aerodynamics Measurement Technique medal by the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) for "outstanding achievements in the application of holography and interferometry to aerodynamics and aero optics". The award ceremony took place at the 24th AIAA Aerodynamic Measurement Technology and Ground Testing Conference in Portland, Oregon in June. The award is given by AIAA every two years to an outstanding contributor to the field. Another member of MetroLaser, Dr. Robert McKenzie, received the AMT award in 1996. At the conference a special session was held in which previous AMT award winners presented papers on their work. Other winners of the award participating in the session included Dr. Ron Hanson, Stanford University, Dr. Dick Miles, Princeton University, and Dr. Ron Adrian, University of Chicago. Dr. Trolinger presented a talk entitled Digital Holography, a Window into a Remote Place. Dr. McKenzie's talk was titled Planar Doppler Velocimetry in Large Wind Tunnels.
